NJ State Police, The FBI and Elizabeth Police, are a neighborhood investigating after a high-speed pursuit ended with the arrest of a possible murder suspect from Connecticut.
At approximately 10:50 a.m., NJ State Police attempted several times to pull over a car in several locations in Elizabeth, including Bayway Avenue, Smith Street, Route 1&9, and East 6th, when the driver ignored officers and sped through that portion of the city in an attempt to bail from the car.

Police say the pursuit ended when the suspect pulled into the driveway of a house in the vicinity of 4th and Division streets at around 11:14 a.m.
Local, state and federal police officers flooded the community and took the driver of the car in custody without further incident.
NJ State Police have not immediately confirmed if the suspect they captured this morning is wanted for a gruesome double murder that occurred in Connecticut on Friday.
UPDATED 1:30 p.m. EPD: ARRESTED MAN IS NOT CONNECTICUT MURDER SUSPECT:
”Essex County prosecutors office and the New Jersey State Police were involved in a motor vehicle pursuit that ended on east jersey street in Elizabeth.
A foot pursuit ensued and the suspect was apprehended on Fulton street by two troopers and an Elizabeth officer without further incident.
We are transporting the arrest of the Newark barracks for the state police in the vehicle being towed by Highway.
The suspect is for at-large warrants for weapons possession.
The suspect is not the person wanted in connection with the homicide in Connecticut”.
