DEVELOPING HARRISON NJ: 'Pedestrian' Killed by SUV at Harrison Intersection

There is an active investigation underway as Hudson County authorities look into several incidents that reportedly resulted in a person killed at a Harrison intersection Sunday morning.

Details regarding the incident are developing as we await a public information request from Harrison Police officials, but according to preliminary reports obtained by our overnight weekend crew who arrived at the scene, there was an incident where police began to follow a vehicle that was reportedly occupied with suspects who were armed with a high powered weapon.

RLS Metro Breaking News crew members observed an ambulance assisting one person near Frank E. Rogers Boulevard and Warren Street where according to reports, a suspect beat the victim in the face with a gun before fleeing the scene.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries according to on-scene observation.

At the corner of Frank E. Rogers and Harrison Avenue, police set up a crime scene near a vehicle that had a male 'victim' lying on the ground, motionless, with the doors of the vehicle wide open.

A Monoc EMS units arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene according to on-scene observations.

It appeared that the victim was fatally struck by the vehicle at the intersection but -unconfirmed- published reports stated that the person was shot then struck by the vehicle.

Police have not confirmed a shots fired investigation, and there were no shell casing markers on the ground near or around the victim according to on-scene reports.

We are identifying this incident as a pedestrian struck -with a confirmed fatality- by a vehicle incident until authorities release other information.

This investigation remains active an ongoing. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office are assisting in the investigation.
