Police detained two potential suspects who allegedly fired multiple shots on a street in Newark’s South Ward that injured a female this evening.
Newark officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of 196 Seymour Avenue around 6:37 p.m.
When cops arrived, they found multiple shell casings and a female struck in her lower leg.
She was rushed to University Hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive.
Police engaged in a pursuit where they captured the alleged shooters in the vicinity of West Runyon and Seymour.
No other injuries have been reported and the motive for the shooting is under investigation.
