There is a homicide investigation underway as Union County authorities investigate a shooting that left a man dead in Elizabeth overnight.
According to preliminary reports from authorities, the overnight shooting happened near a gentleman's club in the 400 block of Spring Street at around midnight
Reports of shots fired sent police rushing to the scene where they found a male, around the age of 20, suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
The victim died from his injuries a short time later authorities said.
Police taped off the area where they began the investigation and search for the suspect responsible for the shooting.
The Union County Prosecutor's Office has taken over the investigation as the suspect remains at-large.
