This afternoon, Paterson Police and detectives from the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office responded to a shooting in a Paterson neighborhood that left one man critically injured.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Ellison Street and East 18th Street following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with gunshot wounds to his leg and stomach.
The injured man was immediately transported to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition.
The shooter fled the scene and remains at large.
Authorities have established a crime scene and launched a full investigation into the incident.
Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward as the investigation continues.
