Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred last Monday in Camden City, resulting in the death of a man on Friday, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.On May 13, officials said at approximately 5:42 p.m., the Camden County Police Department received a ShotSpotter alert for gunfire in the 700 block of Ferry Avenue.
Shortly after officers arrived on the scene, Camden County Sheriff’s officers at Cooper University Hospital were notified of a walk-in gunshot victim.
The victim, later identified as Shyhiem Davis, 25, of Woodlynne, was admitted in critical condition.
Davis remained in critical condition until he succumbed to his injuries on May 17, 2024, and was pronounced dead at 3:37 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
