Details Surrounding Shooting of 16-Year-Old Elizabeth Boy Continues to Develop

As family members says their last goodbyes to a 16-year-old Elizabeth boy found in the basement of a home suffering from a gunshot wound to head, questions remain unanswered.

According to authorities, shortly before 9:45 Tuesday evening, members of the Elizabeth Police Department responded to an apartment on the 800 block of Monroe Avenue, where they found the 16-year-old Jose Oliver Torres Tineo. However, the spokesman for the prosecutor's office stated that since incident remains under investigation, the office would not release further details at this time.

Sources revealed that the teen, who was reportedly kept on life support till this afternoon, was shot inside Elizabetth Police Officer Kevin Kelly's apartment.

The shotgun - which was allegedly secured - was reportedly used to record a video but was accidentally fired injuring Oliver in the head.

A vigil for Jose is scheduled for 8 tonight in front of 10 Coakley Circle in Elizabeth.
