Delayed EMS Response Criticized After Pedestrian Struck by Car, Severely Injured in Jersey City

A serious pedestrian accident occurred Thursday night in Jersey City, leaving one man severely injured.AdThe incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. at the intersection of Boyd Avenue and West Side Avenue.

Jersey City Police were quick to respond to the scene, where they discovered a male pedestrian bleeding heavily from his leg and experiencing a seizure.

Officers immediately administered medical assistance, applying a tourniquet to manage what appeared to be a partial amputation.

Residents have voiced concerns over the delayed response time of EMS units to the accident site.

Despite the initial wait, the injured man was eventually transported to Jersey City Medical Center for urgent treatment. He remains in serious condition.AdThe circumstances surrounding the incident are under active investigation by the Jersey City Police, who are working to determine the cause of the strike and any contributing factors.
