Registrations are being accepted from Gloucester County residents for a defensive driving course that can save money on vehicle insurance and remove penalty points assessed for driving violations.
Sponsored by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office for the past seven years, the course will be offered both in two weekday sessions, from 6-9 p.m. on May 21st and May 22nd with attendance required both evenings to receive a certificate of completion, and in a single six-hour weekend session from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 19th.
Organizers said classes will be held in Room 716 of Scott Hall on the campus of Rowan College at Gloucester County, Tanyard Road, Deptford Township. Use parking lot D.
A $10 processing fee is charged for class materials and the cost of removing up to two points from a driver’s record with the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission. The fee is payable at the class. Cash will not be accepted. Checks should be made payable to the National Safety Council. Vehicle insurers give a five percent premium reduction for completing the course, which uses lessons developed by the National Safety Council.
Class size is limited. Participants must be Gloucester County residents and have a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
