Authorities announced the arrest of Conrado Santos-Carmona, 27, of Lakewood who allegedly sexually assaulted a 6-year-old girl, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Lakewood Police Chief Robert C. Lawson said today.
The investigation was initiated after a 6 year-old female victim disclosed to the Lakewood Police Department that Santos-Carmona, who is known to the victim, had allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Based on the victim’s statement, Detective Montgomery and Pederson requested the assistance of Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Special Victim’s Unit. Det. Matthews responded and communicated with the victim and mother to get a clear picture of the allegations. Following the victim’s interview, the investigating detectives made contact with the defendant. Santos-Carmona, at the request of the investigating detectives, responded to Lakewood Police Headquarters.
The subsequent investigation resulted in Senior Assistant Prosecutor Terry Linardakis approving Santos-Carmona be charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
His bail was set by the Honorable Rochelle Gizinski, J.S.C. at $250,000 with no 10% option. Nicole’s Law and a no victim contact order were implemented. The suspect was remanded to the Ocean County Jail in lieu of bail.
Accordingly, ICE was notified. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency was also notified as a follow up to the safety and well-being of the victim.
