The State Regional Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death for a male found near a NJ-22 underpass in Newark.
The badly decomposed remains of the person was found at around 9 a.m. on Empire Street just off of Frelinghuysen Avenue according to a preliminary report by authorities.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is looking into the matter.
There are no reports of foul play at this time.
