Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department said authorities are investigating the death of an unidentified man who was found today outside a township apartment complex near a Route 1 bridge that spans the Raritan River.
The man, whose identity is under investigation, was pronounced dead at 9:50 a.m. after he was discovered at the Valley Manor apartment complex at 6:14 a.m.
Police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene at that time after being notified of a small fire at the apartment complex.
The remains of the unidentified man were discovered when the fire was extinguished.
