The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Weehawken Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Thursday night near the intersection of Park Avenue and 41st Street in Weehawken.
The incident took place around 10 p.m. after police received reports of shots fired in the vicinity of the old water tower.
Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified individual suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motive for the shooting remains under active investigation. No additional injuries were reported.
