A fatal shooting in Jersey City is under investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department, authorities confirmed.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Lembeck Avenue and Old Bergen Road at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Monday.
Police were dispatched to the area following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, emergency medical services (EMS) located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Despite efforts from medical staff, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
Investigators are actively working to determine a motive for the shooting, and the case remains under active investigation. 
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office or the Jersey City Police Department as the search for the suspect continues.
