A male victim was pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting in a section of Jackson Township Monday morning.
According to police, just before 2:45 a.m., police responded to reports of an injured person in the 30's block of Harvey Jones Drive.
Upon arrival, police found an unidentified male suffering bullet wounds at that location.
Officers set up a crime scene while Jackson Police officials notified the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, who will assist in the investigation.
The incident has not been confirmed a homicide as of 5 a.m. Monday.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
