Early Thursday morning, a devastating house fire in Cherry Hill claimed the life of at least one individual.Firefighters responded to a call at approximately 2:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of Severn Avenue. They found a two-story wood-framed house engulfed in flames.
Upon arrival, heavy fire was visible from the second floor, prompting firefighters to rapidly deploy several lines to combat the intense flames.
During their efforts, firefighters entered the residence and discovered an unidentified individual with severe injuries. Sadly, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crews located and extinguished the main body of the fire within an hour, bringing the fire under control within an hour.
The Camden County Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.No other severe injuries were reported. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
