The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into a tragic shooting incident that occurred in Paterson early Thursday morning.
The violent incident unfolded around 1:17 a.m. in the vicinity of Hamilton Avenue and Summer Street.
According to preliminary information, Paterson Police responded to reports of gunshots near the intersection.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
Tragically, despite prompt medical attention, the victim was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time.
Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and no arrests have been reported thus far.
