New Jersey State Police officials are investigating a tragic incident early Thursday morning on the Garden State Parkway.
The single-vehicle accident, which occurred shortly before 4:55 a.m., was near mile marker 119.2 in Aberdeen.
Upon their arrival, emergency responders encountered a devastating scene. A vehicle was found in a state of wreckage, containing one severely injured, unresponsive individual.
Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area to determine if there were any additional victims. As of 5:15 a.m., no further injuries have been reported in relation to this incident.
The circumstances leading to this fatal collision are still unclear, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
State Police are working to uncover the cause of the crash, and further details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
