Deadly Blizzard Conditions Occurring in Newark, Northern NJ; Storm Responsible for Nine Deaths Around the Country

Heavy snow and strong winds is currently dumping large amounts of snow in Newark and much of New Jersey at this time.

Several parts of the city has already accumulated about 6 inches of snow since the first drops of snow hit the ground at around midnight.

Governor Christie has declared a state of emergency in New Jersey after forecasters predicted a large blizzard that was threatening to pour up to two feet of snow on the state and possibly flood the coast.

According to the Associated Press, so far, nine people have died in the deadly snowstorm that affected states around the nations.

The fatalities have mainly occurred due to car crashes as the storm wreaked havoc on most of the eastern part of the country according to the Associated Press.

All of the fatalities have occurred due to vehicle accidents in Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia the Associated Press said.

There have been no fatalities reported in NJ as of 3 a.m. this morning.
