Deadly Bayonne Building Blaze Extinguished with Help from Neighboring Fire Departments

A fast-moving fire that erupted in a building on Avenue C in Bayonne was controlled within an hour, but not before the inferno claimed the life of a juvenile overnight.  AdThe Bayonne Fire Department was first on the scene just before midnight, immediately calling for mutual aid as flames engulfed the two-story structure and threatened to spread to adjacent buildings.

Upon their arrival, police noted heavy flames emerging from the building located at 436 Avenue C.

Firefighting crews from Bayonne and assistance from the Jersey City Fire Department and Kearny Firefighters, who provided firehouse coverage, worked swiftly to contain the fire.

Several lines were deployed, allowing teams to control the blaze effectively. However, during the search of the building, an unidentified individual was rescued but unfortunately pronounced dead by medical personnel.

 

Officials said The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Bayonne Fire Department are investigating the fire on Avenue C with one juvenile fatality. AdThe cause of the fire is currently under investigation to determine what sparked the late-night emergency.

The neighboring fire departments' quick response and joint effort were crucial in preventing further damage and potential casualties.
