Daylight Shootout Exchange Rocks East Orange Neighborhood

An intense shootout in an East Orange neighborhood on South Burnett Street near Central Avenue sent residents scrambling for safety before 7:30 p.m. last night.

Witnesses reported an explosion of gunfire, with over a dozen rounds exchanged in broad daylight, leading to frantic 911 calls and a law enforcement response. 

According to preliminary reports, at least two individuals were involved in firing at each other, causing alarm among residents.

The shootout resulted in damage to about two homes and approximately five vehicles as bullets continued to fly across the community.

Authorities have yet to confirm any severe injuries resulting from the incident, and the suspects responsible for the gunfire have fled the scene. No arrests have been made as of now.AdPolice are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shootout and are searching for the individuals involved.

Residents are urged to come forward with any information that could help identify the shooters and provide clarity on the motivations behind this dangerous exchange.
