Saxophonist and vocalist Camille Thurman will perform with drummer Darrell Green and the Darrell Green Trio at the Englewood Public Library, on Thursday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the library’s front plaza.
According to the library, this will be the 6th installment in the library’s 10th annual jazz concert series, “Jazz Under the Stars.” The concert series is free and open to the public. No registration is needed, but library parking is minimal.
In case of inclement weather, the concerts will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church one block north at 113 Engle St.
Downbeat magazine and SF Jazz rising star saxophonist and vocalist Camille Thurman collaborates with the incomparable drummer Darrell Green for a performance debuting original music written during quarantine.
They were featured on NPR this past June for a series called “Alone Together Duets” and recently completed a tour of Africa sponsored by the U.S. State Department and American Music Abroad.
Camille is joined by the Darrell Green Trio, featuring Anthony Wonsey on piano, Tom DiCarlo on bass, and Darrell Green on drums.
