Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp announces that on today’s date, Superior Court Judge Thomas J Critchley, Jr. sentenced Guillermo Delacruz, 50, of Dover New Jersey, to 11 years in New Jersey State Prison with 60 months of parole ineligibility for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance - cocaine, a first degree crime.
A total of $57,055 of drug proceeds was also seized at the time of his arrest and ultimately forfeited to the State. Delacruz pled guilty to the charge on May 11, 2016.
On February 5, Officer Timothy Thiel of the Dover Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Delacruz’s vehicle for his failure to wear a seatbelt. During the investigation, a Consent to Search of his vehicle was obtained which led to the recovery of approximately 445 grams of Cocaine and $57,055 in cash.
Delacruz ultimately admitted to transporting and selling the Cocaine.
