Port Authority Police detained a person following a security breach in Newark Liberty International Airport after the subject breached security at Terminal C today.
According to PAPD, the person reportedly exited through a security door, forcing an immediate police response where officers came across the customer around 11 am.
Officials have not said if the person would be arrested or if the incident was a mistake, at this time.
Passengers and some employees were rescreened after being allowed back in the terminal.
Other employees were placed on lockdown until the situation was under control.
The incident is under investigation.
