A pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Newark's North Ward has police investigating.
The man was struck near the intersection of Broadway and Sylvan Avenue at around 11:20 p.m. where emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a seriously injured person.
According to reports, arriving medical crews found the badly injured man laying on the grounds at that location.
Eyewitnesses said that the man was crossing Broadway when he attempted to reverse back to the sidewalk causing a vehicle to strike him head-on.
The vehicle reportedly stayed at the scene.
The investigation is active and ongoing by Newark Police.
