There is an active and ongoing investigation into the motive for a shooting that injured a male in Roselle on Wednesday night.
According to police, units responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 400 block of East 1st Avenue at approximately 10 p.m.
Police say officers arrived at the scene and found a severely injured male suffering bullet wounds in his stomach.
EMS rushed the unidentified victim to University Hospital in Newark for treatment and has been listed in critical condition.
Police say the suspect fled the scene and remains at-large.
