Authorities in Union County are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist Saturday evening in Union.
The crash happened at around 5:40 p.m. in the area of Chestnut Street and Fairway Drive where emergency responder rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a collision with injuries.
Arriving rescue crew located a severely injured male victim that location.
The victim was transported to Newark Beth Israel Hospital where he died a short time later according to reports.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcyclist was traveling on Chestnut Street when he attempted to make a left turn on Fairview where he struck a vehicle at that location.
The identity of the man has not been released.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
