A Union County man was sentenced today to 70 months in prison for receiving explicit images of minors, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Honig, Joseph Hinksmon, 42, of Cranford, previously pleaded to one count of an indictment charging him with receipt of explicit images of minors.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:
From July 10, 2019, through July 24, 2019, Hinksmon accessed the internet to download and receive explicit videos and images of minors to his personal hard drive.
Hinksmon’s computer devices contained more than 600 explicit images of minors that Hinksmon had downloaded from the internet, including images of prepubescent children.
In addition to the prison term, Hinksmon was sentenced to 10 years of supervised release and ordered to pay restitution of $75,000.
