Firefighters battled a raging vehicle fire that occurred on an interstate in Totowa this afternoon.
According to officials, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a mobile crane somehow caught fire on Interstate 80 West just past Union Boulevard in Totowa.
Initial reports indicated that the crane blaze also sparked a brush fire along the side of the highway.
The Totowa, Wayne and Woodland Park Fire departments arrived on the scene to fight the initial fire
There was also a Haz-Mat vehicle on the scene to deal with the cleanup according to officials.
The New Jersey State Forest Fire service arrived to fight the brush fire.
There are no reported injuries.
Be advised that there is heavy traffic in the area backed up for about two miles.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
