Good morning, New Jersey!North Jersey Residents are waking up to a cool 49 degrees with some early cloud cover, but a sunny day is in store as the state prepares for long-awaited rainfall later this week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Meteorologists say today’s high will reach around 59 degrees, with northwest winds becoming light and variable by the morning.
Tonight, temperatures will dip to a low of 46 under mostly cloudy skies with calm winds.
This sunny and cooler day is a prelude to much-needed rain arriving Thursday.
After nearly two months of significant drought conditions and wildfires that affected parts of the state, forecasters predict soaking rain that will last much of Thursday and into Friday.The upcoming rainfall is expected to relieve drought-stricken areas, replenish water supplies, and mitigate wildfire risks. New Jersey residents are encouraged to prepare for the wet weather later this week.
