Yu Shang Food, Inc. has issued a recall for approximately 72,240 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) meat and poultry products due to potential contamination with *Listeria monocytogenes*.According to a statement released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the recall expands on a previous notice issued on November 9, 2024, and now includes all RTE products produced prior to October 28, 2024.
The recalled items bear establishment numbers “P-46684” or “EST. M46684” within the USDA mark of inspection and were distributed to retail locations nationwide and sold online.
For detailed information, including the full product list and labels, consumers are encouraged to review the FSIS recall notice.
The issue was discovered through routine testing conducted by FSIS on products from October 21, 2024, which confirmed the presence of *Listeria monocytogenes*.
Follow-up testing also detected the bacteria in both finished products and environmental samples.
According to the FSIS, investigations with public health partners identified a connection between the contaminated products and a cluster of illnesses.
Whole genome sequencing is ongoing to confirm if the contamination matches the outbreak strain.
Listeriosis, caused by *L. monocytogenes*, is a serious infection that poses significant risks to older adults, pregnant individuals, newborns, and those with weakened immune systems. While less common, individuals outside these groups can also be affected.
Consumers who have purchased the affected products are urged to not consume them and to either discard the items or return them to the place of purchase.
