North Jersey is waking up to a cold Monday morning as the Thanksgiving week rush begins. While Newark sees temperatures around 42 degrees at 4:30 a.m., regions like Sussex, Passaic, and parts of Morris Counties are facing below-freezing conditions.
The good news is that winds that have swept through the area in recent days have finally calmed, and no rain is expected during the day.
According to the National Weather Service, Monday will be sunny with a high near 53 degrees and a light west wind between 3 to 7 mph.
However, rain is on the horizon, threatening to complicate Thanksgiving travel plans later in the week.
Tonight, there’s a chance of sprinkles between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., followed by a potential for rain after 1 a.m.
As the region gears up for the holiday, residents are encouraged to enjoy the dry start to the week while preparing for possible travel disruptions due to the approaching wet weather.
Have a great Monday, New Jersey!
