Cold, Breezy Start to the Day in Newark, North jersey Region

Newark residents  are waking up to a brisk 34 degrees this Friday morning, with temperatures expected to feel closer to 27 degrees throughout the day due to the wind chill.

While the winds won't be as strong as Thursday, the cold will persist, prompting officials to advise dressing warmly.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a slight chance of light snow south of Edison and in parts of Middlesex County.

However, the flurries are not expected to accumulate significantly or reach the ground in most of North Jersey.

The forecast for Friday calls for a chance of flurries before 7 a.m., followed by mostly cloudy skies and a high near 40 degrees.

Wind chill values will linger between 20 and 30 degrees, with west winds blowing at 13 to 16 mph and gusts reaching up to 28 mph.

As the day transitions into the evening, temperatures will drop to around 25 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.
