Clifton Police are on the search for the driver of a vehicle that led them on a pursuit that ended in Essex County during the overnight hours.
According to authorities, police attempted to pull over a vehicle near NJ-21 when the driver ignored officers and sped away from the scene.
Police the pursuit made its way onto the southbound lanes of the highway where police contacted Belleville, Newark Police and Essex County Sheriff's Office after the suspect sped through the towns.
Clifton officers lost the vehicle when the vehicle sped onto I-280 east in Newark.
Police believe that the vehicle -a grey BMW M6- was stolen from a Belleville neighborhood.
There were no injuries reported.
