Authorities in Essex County are investigating a shooting incident that left a person injured overnight in Newark.
A preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 3:25 a.m., officials at Clara Maass Hospital notified police when a gunshot victim entered the emergency room.
The victim reported to authorities that he suffered injuries after being struck by gunfire on Roseville Avenue before coming to the hospital.
Police searched the Newark North ward community for additional victims, but no other injuries were reported.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined, and no arrests have been reported.
