One person was transported to University Hospital suffering serious injuries after a crash that involved an ambulance occurred Sunday morning.
According to preliminary reports, the crash happened just before 3:25 a.m., where a University Hospital ambulance collided with a civilian vehicle at the intersection of Central Avenue and 1st Street.
Emergency responders and rescue crews arrived to find the airbags deployed inside the civilian vehicle with at least one person suffering severe injuries at that location according to reports.
There were no severe injuries to emergency medical technicians according to reports.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
