We received a call in the morning as we went into our daily legacy meeting. The call was an invitation to an initial event (Tech Talk) sponsored by Audible and hosted by The Urban League of Newark's Tech House.
A concept that was new to us.
We made plans to attend to learn more about what's being offered in the community. We were attending to be guests and sit on the sidelines, but there was a mix-up and a few open seats, so we could take advantage of the information shared, which was amazing.
The Tech Talk was all about the usability of Chrome which was great timing for us since we use Chrome every day. We learned time-saving strategies that could automate our processes and increase our time freedom.
It was a pleasant surprise.
Next, we were given a tour of the Tech House which is doing incredible work here in the Newark, NJ, area. They are closing the digital divide for the children who otherwise would not be afforded the skills and the equipment to learn with.
It's a beautifully renovated historic house that was redesigned to have full functionality as a hub for all things digital and digital learning.
We didn't know that such a resource existed in Newark, and we're excited to share more updates and details as we continue to learn more and support their initiatives.
You never know what ways your gifts can serve the community around you and what kind of beautiful partnerships happen when you leave your comfort zone.
As marriedpreneurs, we are visionaries and leaders. In order to grow in those areas, we must do new things and meet new people.
