A Chilly Start in Newark, But Sunshine and a Warm-Up Are on the Horizon

Newark

Richard L. Smith

Good morning! As we wake up to the close of the week, temperatures are a bit warmer than yesterday but still carry that fall chill in the air.AdYou'll likely need a warm jacket at the bus stops downtown Newark or on your morning commute—but the day promises gradual improvement.

Skies are mostly cloudy at 4:30 a.m. with some precipitation moving in from Pennsylvania. However, don't get your hopes up for significant rainfall.

Forecasters say due to the persistently dry conditions in our region, any rain that does arrive will likely be minimal to none.

The fire risk remains elevated through the weekend, so continue to exercise caution with outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service:

  • Today: Mostly cloudy through mid-morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 58. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
  • Tonight: Clear, with a low around 42.
