It's currently 37 degrees in downtown Newark, and if you're heading out for the morning commute or walking the dog, you'll want to bundle up.

Across the region, temperatures vary: Morristown sits at 33 degrees, Paterson at 35, Edison and Irvington at 36, while Sussex County is experiencing below-freezing conditions.

Factoring in the wind, many of these locations feel like they're in the low to mid-20s.

However, this chilly start won't last long, as plenty of sunshine is expected to warm things up throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 61. North wind 7 to 10 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low of around 41. Calm wind.

Enjoy the sunshine and have a great day, New Jersey!
