Chilly Columbus Day in Newark as Strong Winds Bring Cooler Temperatures

Newark wakes up to a chilly but mild morning at 4:30 a.m. on this Columbus Day.SupportTemperatures are currently at 55 degrees, but residents should prepare for significant changes as the day progresses, with winds expected to pick up to 25-35 mph, making it feel about 10 degrees cooler.

According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny with a high near 69 degrees.

However, temperatures will rise by mid-morning to around 64 before dropping to the mid-50s by the afternoon, thanks to brisk winds.

For Monday night, expect mostly clear skies and cold conditions, with temperatures dipping to around 45 degrees. Keep a jacket or coat handy, as temperatures will drop throughout the day.
