A Halloween party Saturday at a neighbor's house, quickly took a turn for a child and his mother in Harrison Twp.
Emergency crews responded to a township home around 3:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of a child suffering burn injuries.
According to officials, a 7-year-old boy reached over a lit candle to get a piece of candy from a bowl, when the child's sleeve of his costume caught fire.
The child ran out of the home as his mom followed him knocking him down to the ground, putting the fire out.
The child was transported to Chester-Crozier Burn Center in Upland, Pennsylvania with second-degree burns to his arms, chest, neck and face, county officials reported.
The mother was also taken to the sane hospital with second-degree burns to her right hand.
The incident remains under investigation.
