Officials have confirmed that a young child was struck and killed by a vehicle outside the child's home this afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to the area of Seventh Street and Forest Avenue sometime around 1 p.m for a fatal pedestrian strike.
Upon arrival, police learned a child, reportedly around 3 or 4 years of age, was struck by a vehicle that remained at the scene and driver is cooperating with police.
The unidentified child was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
