Toms River Police are investigating an overnight incident where a child was burned inside a home Saturday night.
According to preliminary reports, the emergency responders were called to an address in the 300 block of Cutty Court shortly before 11:25 p.m. to investigate reports of a burn victim.
Upon arrival they found the child suffering non-life threatening burns after a candle made contact with the 4-year-old’s arm.
EMS transported the victim to St. Christopher's Hospital for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation.
