A 5-year-old who was choking on a quarter was aided by Officer Francisco Sanchez on Saturday afternoon, police announced today.
Sanchez was called to a Banta Avenue residence late Saturday afternoon where he was met by the child's grandmother, who told officers that the boy swallowed a quarter.
As family place the boy in their car, Officer Sanchez noticed that the child who could not speak needed immediate care.
Sanchez initiated abdominal thrusts and he hit the child's back in hopes of dislodging the coin.
Emergency personal arrived at the scene but the boy's family declined further medical treatment.
