A young child suffered severe facial injuries after a dog attacked the kid at a residence in the Township of Washington Friday morning.
The Bergen County incident happened around 8 a.m. in the 200 block of West Place.
Police and EMS arrived at the scene and secured a mixed pitbull dog after the animal went on the attack and bit the child in the face.
EMS transported the child to an area hospital for treatment while police investigated the incident.
No other injuries were reported, and police have not confirmed what prompted the dog to attack the child.
