Cherry Hill Man Sentenced for Armed Robbery at Deli

Authorities said James Q. Harris 27, of Cherry Hill, was sentenced Friday to eight years in New Jersey state prison after pleading guilty to the November robbery of two employees of a Westville deli.

According to court documents, Harris pleaded guilty to the robbery charge on November 30, 2017, and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge M. Christine Allen-Jackson.

Under the New Jersey No Early Release Act, he must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.

Police said in the incident; the two victims reported being approached by three males, two of them brandishing handguns.

One went through the pockets of one of the victims but obtained nothing before the three fled.

Authorities identified Harris as one of the suspects the placed him under arrest on February 17, 2017.

Also apprehended in the incident was Steven A. Cooley, of Woodlynne where he is presently a fugitive.
