While details remain limited, preliminary reports indicate that a ShotSpotter device activated and alerted authorities to gunfire in the area of Bergen Street and Renner Avenue at approximately 8:35 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers secured the neighborhood and found shell casings at the scene.

Despite canvassing the area with the help of the Shooting Response Team, no victims were located.

Reported say during the investigation, police received information about a gray vehicle with New York plates that was seen speeding away from the scene and potentially involved in the shooting.

At around 3:30 a.m. Monday, officers patrolling the South Ward spotted a vehicle that matched the description near Clinton Avenue and Lyons Avenue.

When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver fled, leading to a brief pursuit that ended in the 70s block of Vassar Avenue.

About five individuals bailed from the vehicle, with three females and a male captured by police. One suspect is believed to remain at large.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing as authorities work to gather more information and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
