A shooting in Newark's Central Ward late Tuesday evening resulted in damage to two vehicles, sparking a police investigation.
The incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. at 27-81 Barclay Street, where a ShotSpotter device detected multiple gunshots, alerting local authorities.
Upon arrival, police units discovered shell casings at the scene along with the damaged vehicles.
Reports confirmed that there were no occupants inside the vehicles at the time of the shooting and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The suspects believed to be responsible for the gunfire managed to flee the scene and remain at large.
The Newark Police Department has initiated a full investigation into the incident as they work to identify and apprehend the individuals involved.
