Authorities in Newark announced the arrest of Mohammed Kasum Nahram, 32, of Cedar Knolls, for CDS possession and distribution on Tuesday.
Authorities said at approximately 6:48 p.m., officers on foot patrol in the area of Clinton Place and Lyons Avenue observed a male slumped over in his vehicle.
When police approached to conduct a wellness check, they observed the male pouring K-2, a synthetic marijuana, into his hand.
Officers further observed a large plastic baggie filled with individually wrapped bags of K-2 inside the car.
Yes Police seized a total of 96 bags, or 16 ounces, of K-2 along with $116.00 in cash.
Nahram was arrested without incident. He is charged with Possession of CDS (K-2) with Intent to Distribute and Distributing CDS Within 1,000-feet of a School.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
