Police in Cedar Grove have alerted neighboring towns to be on the lookout for suspects involved in an attempted burglary early Sunday morning.
The incident was reported before 3 a.m. on Franklin Street.
Reports say the suspects, described as two Black males, were occupying a white or light-colored sedan and fled the scene before officers arrived.
Despite efforts to intercept the vehicle, the suspects managed to escape.
This incident adds to a growing trend of home and vehicle burglaries in western Essex County in recent months.
Local police are urging residents to secure their homes and vehicles, reminding them not to leave key fobs inside cars. Authorities are asking the public to report any suspicious individuals or activities.
